It is important that you keep your sewage treatment system in good working order to ensure that you comply with Environment Agency regulations.

A treatment plant that is not maintained is likely to result in the final effluent failing to meet the consent levels set by the Environment agency potentially causing pollution to the environment. Failing to meet this standard can result in prosecution.

Regular maintenance helps keep your equipment working efficiently and prevent breakdowns which could lead to pollution.

Most systems rely on mechanical and electrical components to operate, it is important that these components are inspected and serviced regularly. During service visits we inspect air blowers or compressors, submersible and surface mounted pumps, motor gearboxes, diffusers, bearings, valves, pipework, control panels, alarms & float switches.

N-Tec Services offer planned maintenance contracts for all types of system, these service contracts range from a single routine visit for domestic customers to monthly or weekly visits for commercial clients with larger systems. We can tailor a maintenance plan to meet our customers’ requirements.

We also provide reactive callouts, servicing and repairs to customers who do not wish to take out a service contract.

Following a visit from our engineers customers are issued with a digital report sheet to record the work that has been carried out and any repairs that are required.

We carry a large range of spares to ensure a quick response in the event of a breakdown, ensuring that any downtime is kept to a minimum.

We can carry out final effluent sampling to assess how well your system is performing. Sometimes final sampling is a condition of an Environment Agency Permit or Planning Permission. Common parameters to be analyzed are Biochemical Oxygen Demand (BOD), Suspended Solids (SS) & Ammonia (N).

We can also carry out analysis of other parameters as required including Phosphate (P). Samples are analyzed by accredited laboratories.

Commissioning of newly installed sewage treatment plants is essential to ensure that it will perform at its best from the start.

A commissioning report is usually required for building control approval. We carry out commissioning of most makes and models of sewage treatment plants.

We have experience in refurbishments of old & failing systems. Where manufacturers are no longer trading or have ceased support of older models, we can source parts and carry out repairs to keep your system operational.

Older systems generally had basic control systems; we are able to design and manufacture bespoke control panels to provide reliable operation and fault indication.

We can liaise with the Environment Agency on your behalf, working to get the system compliant with permit conditions and regulations.

With so many different options of sewage treatment plant on the market, it can be hard for the end user to know which one to buy. Often the merchants that sell them only know about the units that they can supply. N-Tec Services have many years experience in maintaining and repairing all types of systems, so when you need a new treatment plant we will recommend a system that will be efficient and reliable.

Mobile data operated systems which can monitor up to four inputs and send email alerts out to up-to 15 recipients in the event of a fault.

Also more sophisticated systems which can provide real time data, data logging and analysis via a web portal, mobile app and email/SMS alerts. This system can monitor multiple digital inputs and analogue inputs.

The environment agency simplified discharge rules for septic tanks and sewage treatment plants, by introducing the General Binding Rules for Small Sewage Discharges. There are two sets of rules; one for discharges to groundwater and a second set of rules for discharges to surface water. The General Binding Rules cover discharges to groundwater up to 2m3 per day and discharges to surface water up to 5m3 per day. Provided that the system/discharge complies with the applicable rules a permit is not required.

We carry out inspections of septic tanks and sewage treatment plants to identify if they comply with the General Biding Rules, following our inspection we will provide a report. This is often requested now when a property served by off mains drainage is sold.

If the system does not comply with the regulations we can advise on options to get the existing system compliant or replacement options. We also assist with discharge permit applications
